For those in the US, Alaska is truly our final frontier. With so much space, splendor, diversity, and extremes, it epitomizes wilderness. But just as the landscapes and wildlife are big, so are the threats from the extractive industries that would log, mine, drill, and otherwise pollute and ruin these heartbreaking vistas, critical refugia for migrating birds, and productive waters. We are working with locals in southeast and southcentral Alaska to protect, restore and defend these magnificent landscapes that contribute so much to their communities and ours.
