Join Cascadia Wildlands WildCATs for a weekend of skill sharing, community building, and field checking the proposed Calloway Timber Sale in the Willamette National Forest.
What: Field Checking Basecamp
Date: Thursday, July 27 – Sunday, July 30
Location: Calloway Timber Sale, Willamette National Forest, near Blue River Reservoir. Specific directions to Basecamp provided after registration. This timber sale encompasses the traditional homelands of the Molalla, Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, Cayuse, Umatilla and Walla Walla Peoples. Accessibility: The Basecamp will take place in a remote area out of cell service and will involve hiking off trail on uneven terrain in adverse or unpredictable weather conditions. Cascadia Wildlands staffer, Madeline Cowen is Wilderness First Responder trained and will have a satellite phone to use in case of emergency. Children and dogs are welcome but must be supervised and brought at their own risk.
