Charitable Gift Annuities (CGAs) and Charitable Remainder Trusts (CRTs) allow a donor to enjoy income for life or for a specified number of years, and obtain an income or estate tax benefit in exchange for a sizeable donation using cash, securities or possibly other assets. The Oregon Community Foundation (OCF) offers both CGAs and CRTs for Cascadia Wildlands. Assets remaining at the termination of the trust or gift annuity are directed to support the Cascadia Wildlands Endowment Fund. CGAs can be created with a minimum of $25,000. CRTs are more complex, and we suggest consulting with a legal advisor since it creates an irrevocable trust.
