Join Cascadia Wildlands and WildCAT volunteers to visit Windy Peak, a very special place currently threatened with commercial logging as part of the N126 timber sale.
The N126 sale is a plan proposed by the Bureau of Land Management to commercially log mature coastal forest near the Triangle Lake and Deadwood communities. The public lands in the N126 sale contain patches of old growth forest, unique habitat and countless opportunities for recreation and adventure. WildCAT volunteers have spent a year exploring and documenting this timber sale, and Windy Peak is one of the most special places we have found. Our day in Windy Peak will be spent hiking around this special place and discussing how Cascadia Wildlands uses field checking for public lands defense!

*Note: Getting to Windy Peak requires going off-trail and is a strenuous hike, but only about four miles round trip. It is well worth the effort!
Carpools leave at 9am from the Cascadia Wildlands office and will stop at the Triangle Lake corner store at 10am to pick up locals to the area.
