Morel mushrooms are a spring forest foraging delic Morel mushrooms are a spring forest foraging delicacy. The Pacific Northwest is home to *at least* 18 species of morels, including varieties of ‘natural’ morels and ‘burn’ morels- those that emerge only after fire disturbance. While morels are quite distinctive, a few false morel mushrooms exist, so be sure to know your shroom ID and when in doubt, throw it out. What’s your favorite way to prepare morels?
