Cascadia Wildlands staff and summer legal interns (most of them) had a killer time on our annual float down the McKenzie River! We went from Paradise to Bruckart Bridge, starting above the Holiday Farm Fire burn area and floated into it.

As crippling heat waves and severe drought sweep t As crippling heat waves and severe drought sweep the nation, the need for bold climate action is clear. Ensure that the Biden Administration’s promises to act on climate are bolstered by robust, meaningful protections for the climate forests we depend on for carbon storage, drinking water, and diverse wildlife habitat. Now is the time to show our widespread, overwhelming support for broad, science-based protections for mature and old growth forests.

“Unfortunately, by failing to take action to promulgate science-based wolf management regulations despite Gov. Inslee’s clear direction, the WDFW Commission has aligned itself with anti-wolf minority interests,” said Nick Cady, legal director for Cascadia Wildlands. “We were only asking the agency to follow its own guidelines.”

Today’s lawsuit was filed on behalf of Cascadia Wildlands, the @centerforbiodiv, Kettle Range Conservation Group, @westernwatershedsproject, and @wildearthguardians.
