Morel mushrooms are a spring forest foraging delic Morel mushrooms are a spring forest foraging delicacy. The Pacific Northwest is home to *at least* 18 species of morels, including varieties of ‘natural’ morels and ‘burn’ morels- those that emerge only after fire disturbance. While morels are quite distinctive, a few false morel mushrooms exist, so be sure to know your shroom ID and when in doubt, throw it out. What’s your favorite way to prepare morels? We are big fans of morel risotto!
