This is a male wolverine named ‘M6’. He is identified by the unique blazes on his chest and under his throat. He has been noninvasively monitored since 2010, when his DNA was first recovered. This makes him a minimum of twelve years old and currently the oldest researched wild wolverine in Montana. Kalon Baughan has been photographing him since 2011 and feels a unique connection with this individual wolverine. Responsible forest management and respectful outdoorsmanship likely play a role with the survival of these rare and threatened midsized carnivores. (photo by Kalon Baughan).
